Upgrading of the maintenance areas of the Turin waste-to-energy plant

The Project

In order to reduce the accesses to the maintenance points and to enlarge the spaces around the waste belts, we proceeded respectively to:

  • demolish portions of reinforced concrete masonry by controlled cutting;
  • replace the metal columns of the central alignments with new structures.

The intervention involves:

  • Cutting of reinforced concrete walls with prior compartmentalisation of the area in the waste pit
  • Construction of new walkways in metal carpentry
  • Removal of elements from existing metal structures
  • New elements to support metal decks
  • The following activities were conducted to achieve these objectives:

Geometric surveys

  • Analysis of project documentation
  • Design of demolition works
  • Design of new metal structures
  • Preparation of administrative practices for SCIA and seismic filing.
