Atlas Europe Square, Yves Mettler

GIT - 10 June 2022 - 0 comments

The experiences supporting artists and contemporary art projects continue for GIT.

We sponsored the publication of the volume Atlas Europe Square, which documents a collection of works by the Swiss artist Yves Mettler who, since 2003, has been mapping all the Europe Squares, Europa Places, Places de l’Europe and Europaplatzes, questioning their architectural, environmental and public function differences and highlighting what they tell us about the idea of “Europe”.

Alongside extensive photographic documentation, Atlas Europe Square contains writings and reflections by the artist along with texts by Reza Negarestani, Teresa Pullano, Laurent Thévenot and Stephen Zepke, who discuss Mettler’s work and address the topic of “Europe”.

Published by Urbanomic, based on a graphic design by Dualroom, the book was printed using a three-colour process with solid Red, Yellow and Blue inks, with the photographic reproductions translated by CMYK using a colour profile supplied by colorlibrary, ECAL, Lausanne. A graphic solution that makes it an eye-catching publication aimed at an international audience.

The book was published with the support of Pro Helvetia, Erna und Curt Burgauer Stiftung, Canton de Vaud and Gruppo Ingegneria Torino.
