Gruppo Ingegneria Torino Srl supports and contributes as Partner to the celebratory event for the World Water Day 2018 (UN Resolution 47/193) having as subject “scarcity of water resources and climate change: reservoirs for the storage of water for prevalent agricultural use” at the Auditorium of the Metropolitan City, Corso Inghilterra 7 – TURIN, 22 March 2018, 8.30 am – 6.00 pm.
The motivations for the Theme are related to the need, repeatedly urged also by the main stakeholders, for greater availability of water resources for agriculture throughout the country, also in view of the recent water shortages in 2017 and the possible climate change scenarios referred to in the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan.
In the transition from the national to the regional scale, it emerges that the needs, while remaining always significant, change from region to region and in the same region from one area to another depending both on the existing reservoir park and on the morphology and local characteristics.
In the training Day/Seminar that the Section promotes, also as an occasion of the celebration of the GMA 2018, having recalled and quantified as far as possible the shortage of resource essentially linked to recent climatic variations, we intend to examine the issue of the reservoirs by comparing the stakeholders who institutionally deal with the resource and its predominantly agricultural use.
To this end, it is intended to promote dialogue and comparison between those involved, such as technical officials from the Regional Environment, Agriculture and Soil Protection Departments, ANBI, agricultural trade associations and water researchers. The aim is to identify useful guidelines for the revision/update of planning tools, which, while respecting environmental balances, can indicate the best guidelines and the best interventions for the storage of water reserves to be used for irrigation purposes, especially in periods of drought.
